Google+ Goes Dark; Focus Marketing + PR Ignites New Digital Communications Strategy

Google will soon pull the plug on its Internet-based social network, Google+. Why? Adaption of the platform simply wasn’t what Google hoped it would be.

Like many businesses specializing in the arena of digital communication, at Focus Marketing + PR, Google+ had a narrow place within our overall social media strategy, alongside Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. There’s no denying Google as a behemoth within all things digital – perhaps this reason alone was enough to include Google+ in our lineup. Afterall, a well-connected search engine brings with it millions of users who surely need to know about our clients’ businesses, right? Apparently, not so much.

If you or your business uses Google+, make note to download data, ASAP. The platform goes dark Tuesday, April 2. Even Internet giant, Google, must start fresh from time-to-time.

As for Focus, while we’ve removed Google+ from our social media strategy, we will must certainly keep our eyes and ears peeled for new or replacement products from Google. Contact Focus at [email protected], if the demise of Google+ has your digital social media strategy grasping for support. We’ll walk you through the steps to salvage any data entangled within Google+, as well as partner with you to deliver a new and improved digital communications strategy.
