So, there you are. You and your business. And you are trying to figure out what you need to do to get found online. Well, there are many things that you should probably be doing to have a strong online presence but there is one thing that you HAVE to do. You really should have a Google My Business page.
Google My Business is a free service that you can use to promote your business. Think about Google My Business sort of like a Yellow Pages ad. (People still know what Yellow Pages is, right?) It shows the basics about your company – location, hours, etc. It appears in the search results when your potential customers are searching online.
It isn’t hard to set up – really anyone can do it. It will only take minutes. Be sure to double and triple check all of your information to make sure that it is up-to-date and accurate. You can add things like photos and videos but for most small businesses you may not have those assets. And that’s ok.
Another feature that is available on Google My Business is customer reviews. If your business has a Google My Business page you are able to receive reviews. This is a great way to gain some feedback and it can certainly establish your business as reliable in the eyes of potential customers.
But probably the best reason to set up your Google My Business page is that Google will be able to recognize your company as an official business and not just a person. That is very important in search results. Trust us.
