Let’s Read!

Something that we often discuss around our water cooler is books. There are so many business books out there that it can sometimes be overwhelming to pick a good one. It is great to keep up with today’s business world but you certainly don’t want to spend time reading a book that isn’t going to be helpful. That is why we have put together a short list of books we have enjoyed. We have two genres – books designed for small business owners and books about business in general.

First, if you are looking for some good reads about owning a small business we have two suggestions. The first one is called Eat That Frog by Brian Tracy. This book is great because it focuses on time management. We have found that a lot of business owners have trouble with procrastination and this book gives some helpful advice on that topic. The other book that we would recommend for you small business owners is The Four Hour Work Week by Timothy Ferriss. This book is great. It helps guide you to design your business so that you aren’t a slave to your work; that you can enjoy working for yourself but still walk away from it from time to time.

A good book to pick up to help you prioritize your working life with what really matters is a book called It’s Not About the Coffee. It is written by Howard Behar who worked as a top executive for Starbucks. It has a great message. We would also recommend reading both Freakonomics and Superfreakonomics. Both have a ton of fascinating information about some crazy things that have happened with our economy over the years. These two books are entertaining and will give your brain a little workout.

Happy reading!
