Does Good Content Still Matter?

Technology continues to advance and often leaves businesses with a lot of questions, especially when it comes to Search Engine Optimization and digital marketing. Lately, our team here at Focus Marketing & PR has been getting questions such as, “Does content still matter in this era of ChatGPT and AI search engine integration?” and, “Can’t I just use ChatGPT to create content?”. Our answers in this blog.

Let’s start with some digital marketing basics. Search Engine Optimization, or SEO, is the process of improving your website to increase its visibility in Google, Microsoft Bing, and other search engines whenever people search for products you sell, services you provide, or information on topics. This is where content comes into play. Blogs and social media can help improve your visibility on search engines and ultimately attract more website visitors who may ultimately become clients and customers.

Nobody really knows exactly how Google’s algorithm works. But what we do know is that quality content is still imperative in digital marketing. With the rise of AI tools, such as ChatGPT, it may be tempting to use them to generate content. However, what these tools lack is human touch. Brands are driven by good content with clear, consistent messaging and AI just can’t deliver this. AI can automate some aspects of SEO, but human expertise is still crucial for understanding user behavior and producing quality, original content.

In short, here’s our answer: Good content still matters and AI can’t replace human touch.
